CBRG Youth to Ottawa!

We are very grateful to receive an invitation from Historica Canada's  Encounters With Canada to coordinate a group of our CBRG teens to visit Ottawa for one week! Our teens will be going with a group of young people from Gladstone Secondary School, an award winning East Vancouver School  famous for it's Robotics and Arts programs.

Encounters with Canada is a program that brings outstanding young people together to spend one week in Ottawa at the Terry Fox Centre.  This youth forum includes 100 young people living in a dormitory setting with experienced Canadian teachers as chaperones.  Together, they explore Ottawa and look at future career options and share their hopes and dreams of a better Canada.  Our teens will get a chance to be ambassadors for Camosun bog in a youth forum with young people from all over Canada!  They will get to know Canadians of their age group and visit a Wildlife Preserve.

The Camosun Bog Restoration Group will be taking applications from our outstanding teen volunteers to participate in this amazing program.

Date:  June 26 - July 3, 2017
Age: 14  to 17 years old by July 3, 2016
Cost:  up to $675.  This cost includes airfare, program, museums, accommodation and food for one week

All CBRG teens will need a letter of recommendation from their principal and their counsellor and they will coordinate with  Susan Chung, CBRG's environmental educator.   Please note that this program fulfills the Residential Requirement of the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award Program.  Many of our CBRG teens are currently doing the Duke of Edinburgh Award.  Contact Susan Chung for details.
